May Meeting Minutes

THE FOLLOWING IS VERY IMPORTANT. PLEASE REVIEW ALL. IF ANY STEPS REMAIN UNCOMPLETED, YOUR ADMITTANCE MAY BE JEOPARDIZED.

We're just 10 days away from Relay! We've gotten a lot done but there is still work that needs to be done. Please review the minutes and double check to see if your team owes us anything.

  • THE LAST DAY TO REGISTER IS THURSDAY, JUNE 4TH. Everyone must be registered online by the end of Thursday. We will not be able to add anyone past Thurday. If you're a youth team and have yet to hand in permission slips, you must mail the forms to Gail Tuohey. THE FORMS MUST ARRIVE BY THURSDAY. Mail the forms to: "Gail Tuohey, 75 Davids Drive, Hauppuage, NY 11788." All chaperone forms must also be in Gail's hands by Thursday. No forms - no admittance - sorry.
  • Click Here to download the Youth Permission Slip and Chaperone packet
  • We currently have: 200 registered participants, 35 teams and $16,000.
  • Survivors and caretakers not already registered for the survivor brunch should contact Gail Tuohey (gail.tuohey@cancer.org or 631-300-3144).
  • If you were not at Wednesday's meeting, please contact James Brierton at jbrierton@verizon.net. You must have: your team t-shirts, your campsite location, submitted a team song, handed in all paperwork and registered everyone online. If any of that is missing, please contact us by Thursday.
  • Please remember - no tents are allowed on the day of the event. Only canopies, if you think you'll need it.
  • Anyone coming to 'visit' to watch a band, must register and pay the $20 registration fee by Thursday. No exceptions!
  • If you are looking to volunteer, please contact James Brierton (jbrierton@verizon.net) with your name and the hours you are available.
  • Our entertainment schedule has been posted: http://smithtownrelay.blogspot.com/2009/05/june-6th-schedule.html
  • Click Here to download and view our 'Relay for Life Checklist.' Its a list of suggested items you should bring with you the day of.
  • IF EVERYONE CAN MAKE SURE THEY HAVE THEIR TEAM T-SHIRTS, CAMPSITE LOCATION, SUBMITTED A TEAM SONG, HANDED IN ALL PAPERWORK AND HAVE ALL TEAM MEMBERS REGISTERED BY THURSDAY THEN WE'LL BE GOOD TO RELAY!

Its just about the point where all your hard work pays off!

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. It is much easier for us to help you now than closer (or the day of) the event.

A Week of Fundraisers

Nicole Zanfardino, Maureen Price and the rest of Friends for a Cure hosted a car wash this past Saturday at Red Lobster in Stony Brook to raise money for their Relay for Life of Smithtown team. The team reports raising over $300.

Team Iliana had their own car wash on Sunday at Applebee's.

Fundraisers continued this week. The Faculty/Student Softball Game begins at 3 p.m. Our Famous Dave's fundraiser runs throughout the day Wednesday.

This is also an early reminder that our next (and last meeting) will be held at High School East at 7 p.m. in the Main Cafe. A representative from each team must attend to collect the team's t-shirts, campsite and other important information for the day of the event. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us.
